Wooden Kitchen Utensils by Leis

Posted by on Dec 2, 2012 in DESIGN

Black nylon, Teflon, and stainless steel have become common materials for kitchenware, but the simplicity and familiarity of wood still stands strong. Design firm Leis has produced a new line of wooden kitchen utensils that honor the Slovenian trade of woodcraft, or suha roba, which dates back to the 14th Century. The spoon, fork, and spatula set is carved and finished from locally sourced beech, and are half-painted along the length in white. The natural look reflects the environmentally conscious creation process, and also makes the set an attractive addition to any modern kitchen.
