Apparently shipping containers are the new house, proven so by yet another such project, this time from Maziar Behrooz. Insta_House is a low-cost solution for space and resources, with a base price of just under $100K and a construct of four 8’x40’ shipping containers that form a two-story residence. Though the form is simple, the interiors are elegant and fitted with glazing at the building’s end and painted a sharp white on the inside. One particular example exhibits and artist’s studio such that the second floor is transformed into a mezzanine for studio space. An improvement upon other prefab options in terms of build time, Insta-House can be erected in less than one week.
