Batavus BUB by Remko Verhaagen

Posted by on Dec 11, 2012 in DESIGN, TWO WHEELS

The design for the BUB, Batavus Utility Bike, was inspired by one of the most common office items: a paper clip. Designers Remko Verhaagen and Waldo Reijnders, while working for VanBerlo, decided to take a simple approach to the creation of the urban bicycle that features durable construction and fun, extra-wide, 26-inch tires for a look of comfort and ease. The frame – available in white, grey, black – can be jazzed up with colorful accessories, bands of color around the tubing, all the while preserving the iconic and classic look of the Dutch bike.
