Architecture, Italians do it better

004 Private House by A2BC

View all 13 Photos

From the outside, 004 Private House by A2BC fits comfortably into its small plot on a hillside, but the rustic quality of the residence is met with a minimalistic modernism on the interior. The stone façade and black window frames complement the earthy tones of nature, and a small path of stepping stones leads up the hillside of Cinque Terre in Liguria. The expansion project of a farmhouse and barn features white plaster interiors and furniture to match, all the while preserving traces of the rural lifestyle in the exposed rafters and gabled roof. A modern strip fireplace and a built-in bookshelf are simple adornments that befit the easy, quiet lifestyle of the home’s residents.
