Christmas Tree Sledge by Tom Hatfield

Posted by on Dec 19, 2012 in DESIGN, GOOD CAUSES

Snow boots and bomber hat, check. Scarf and mittens, check. Hold on to your coveralls because the Christmas Tree Sledge has made its debut. An ode to thriftiness Tom Hatfield who has been widdling away at discarded Christmas trees off the streets of London.

It is a wholesome product with a humble heart, recalling more primitive times. The frame consists of evergreen branches that have been carved down to fit together. Attached is a rope for holding on down the hill. The seat is made up of six simple slats of pine smoothed and fastened side by side.

He speaks up about resourcefulness and our responsibility to waste not, “People are not as resourceful as they once were, this sledge can give an excitement to a process that can give confidence that appeals to our creative side.”
