December Chair by Jasper Morrison

Posted by on Dec 23, 2012 in DESIGN

Proof that design unites individuals of all backgrounds can be found in the December Chair, the last of twelve in the collection Project 2012 Designs for Nature from Finnish company Nikari. The designers behind the simple, utilitarian chair are UK-based Jasper Morrison and Japanese designer Wataru Kumano. Their visions for easy construction and showcasing the inherent qualities of the ash wood yielded a pre-assembled seat frame onto which the other components are glued and screwed into place. The natural gray tones in the wood are emphasized by the fabric used for the seat and back, which creates a comfortable cradle for any sitter looking to take a rest in the low chair.
