Restaurant Radio Royaal

Once nicknamed “Forbidden City,” Restaurant Radio Royaal is now a food-forward metropolis that is here to stay. The renovation project started as a temporary work on the Philips warehouse in the fashion district of Eindhoven, but creators Niels Wouter, Bart Gardenier, and Stella Birsakhanno saw a vision of a thriving restaurant space. Elements from the building’s past, such as water heaters, old pumps and railing, remain to accentuate the interior, and an old pulley draws attention to the proud show-style sign that announces Radio Royaal. The industrial look of the warehouse blends nicely with the retro décor, which evokes bright memories of the 50’s through the vibrant chairs, black-and-white tiling, exposed lighting, and open kitchen and service area.
