Rooted Tree House by Urbanarbolismo

Posted by on Dec 26, 2012 in ARCHITECTURE

From a child’s perspective, a tree house is a magical place where imagination can run wild and adults are kept at bay. Urbanarbolismo’s Rooted Tree House retains the former, but the tree house is a sophisticated space borne from careful study and consideration. Unlike the classic ad hoc tree house, Rooted Tree House is complexly entangled in the branches of the old oak tree, whose structure was carefully mapped through photogrammetry and 3D modeling. The space integrates the oak’s own branches and features interior lighting to enhance the way that sunlight naturally penetrates the space. Methods of access include stairs and a bridge, as well as a slide and a rope for the more adventurous.
