Quaint coin banks called ORB (from latin orbis= circle) by Anders Arhoj are beautifully hand made earthenware with small town artisan personality. These pieces take me back to Foundery Day Street Fair in the nearby historic village. He provides a whimsy and class together with the care and pride only a local artist would present in their stand.

These banks reflect a Scandinavian craft with Japanese influence. Each one is sealed with a tender cork at the base, dually serving as a stand. Some appear dipped in a glaze that has just a drop or two running down the ball. Others are perfectly clean with distinct lines separating the two tones.

The artist describes this collection, “ORB functions not only as a money bank but also as a piece of clean, abstract sculpture – a classic Scandinavian design product made of honest, natural materials.”
