Roots Vases by Giorgio Bonaguro
One of the most satisfying feelings after tending the garden all summer long watering, weeding, waiting is the day you get to pick something and eat it straight out of the ground. The carrots are the best for snacking in between yard work. I grab a hand full of those perky hair-dos of feathery greens, give a slight tug, and their slender roots make an actual “pop” sound as they are lifted out of the soil. Just brush some of that dirt off and yummmm.
Giorgio Bonaguro of Milan has delighted us with “the roots” vase. His creative design brings to attention a major player behind all the beauty in a bouquet, down in the ground where all the nutrients and vitality grows. A rainbow of gorgeous deep colored glass roots center themselves within the vessel to hold either one single flower stem or when turned the other way, multiple stems.
