Chavito Chukka by Nisolo

I spent a summer volunteering in Peru. The hotel where I stayed backed up to the most breathtaking white peaks of the Andes Mountain Range. In the morning fog would crawl over their snow covered tops.  Its restaurant served us coca tea for breakfast. Every day began this way, and all my American stress was alleviated.

A few members of the Nisolo guys made their way down to Peru working with impoverished women to give them tools to start businesses so they could help better support their families. What they found behind the curtains of their simple homes, gave them a glimpse into something much bigger. Quality leather crafted into fine shoes perfectly shelved, in all their glory.  It’s an unfortunate circumstance, these men find themselves with barely enough to support their family, generating hardly enough business to continue making these beauties. A clear vision hit the Nisolo team of the potential success that would come if they could coordinate some partnerships from motivated entrepreneurs back home in the States.

They say it best, “Our hope is to influence a culture of conscious consumerism here in the U.S. as well as to offer job creation and access to opportunity for this Peruvian community and others around the world.”

Presenting Chavito Chukka, an exquisite footwear handmade from fine leather, with amazing craftsmanship it offers a classic look for dress or casual. Details include delicate stitching at every seam, also the Nisolo brand on lower heal. Fits comfortably around the contour of the foot, covering the heal secured with a laced up tie. Made with sheepskin leather and durable rubber soles. Available in two shades, steel or oak.
