Air Drive by Renaud Marion
In the days of radios and cigarettes in restaurants, of the band music and milk men there were cars that always delivered. So much so, that the styles dating their time as classic. Nowadays, they harbor an ugly jealousy watching all the other new models hit the streets with their hybrid varieties and air bag safety features. But, if they could fly, that there could get them back in the spotlight.
“Air Drive” suggests trophy models from history hovering slightly above the road on a futuristic highway. Renaud Marion has played with photographs to create an interesting course. The stage is set in a modern day city as classic cars in mint condition cast shadows ever so slightly off he ground, missing their wheels. A possible presentation of make believe from his youth, or maybe his plan to make the next million with such a novelty.
