Home Office: Okum Desk by David Okum

Posted by on Jan 30, 2013 in DESIGN, HOME DECOR

Okum Desk, designed by David Okum, is a celebration of the desk as a writing surface. Its molded plywood construction highlights the uniform grain natural to the wood’s surface and these striations in turn accentuate the soft, ergonomic curves of the desk’s built-in shelf and hidden drawer. Rounded corners and edges of the desk contribute to its elegant, polished look, just as the steel legs adhere to the lightweight and slender build. Okum carefully balances reductive design with the high level of detail and craftsmanship apparent through the desk’s flawlessly smooth surface.
