Eiko Ojala
The groundhog didn’t see his shadow this weekend, promising us some warm spring air soon. But, you got to be careful relying on groundhogs, pretty sure I’ve been tricked by their forecast before. Never mind about that over-sized rodent, for now we have a fabulous shadow display that can’t be ignored.
The one dimensional world of Eiko Ojala from Tallinn, Estonia hosts images comin-at-chya. Capitalizing on the full potential of shadows he enhances the shapes and characters as pop out illusions. Many of the pieces that are in a scene reflect his quizzical take on our universe. It’s a delight to dive right into his work fooling us as we reach out to touch.
