Standert, Coffee and Bike Shop in Berlin
Look, it’s a bike, it’s a cafe, it’s….a bike cafe! Whirligigs and doohickies of the bicycle building world fill every nook and cranny of this smallish shop in the North end of Berlin. Everything to make a bike, fix a bike, enhance a bike lays at your fingertips. The two wheel enthusiasts Max and girlfriend Anna combined their passion for riding along with a passion for bringing a community together over espressos and popsicles. The menu includes but not at all limited to tarts, cakes, soups, bagels, bottles of cyclist beer known as Velosophe, homemade popsicles, coffee, tea, and a variety of espresso drinks. They use the coffee house to market their brand Standert everywhere from the chair backs to the bikes hanging as art. It’s a world of interests colliding together with a groovy invitation. The collage of wall coverings and great selection of top line bicyclist gear is cheery and fun. This place says, come on and linger, we love bikes too, here, have a cup of coffee, room for cream?
