I may not have the confidence to put together a whole army of furniture by myself, but certainly I can manage opening a bottle of wine. And, with that fact, I can deduce that the assembly of the ROLHA Side Table is not only convenient, but also clever. Taking its namesake from the Portuguese word for the cork stopper in wine bottles, ROLHA was conceived by Gonçalo Campos from his appreciation of cork as a sustainable, yet versatile material. Each of the three legs of the table has a corkscrew – for lack of a better descriptor – at its end, which bores directly into the solid cork tabletop. The unique composition of cork ensures the table’s stability, as well as a complementary aesthetic to the natural color of the wooden legs.
