Despite the existence of washers and dryers, clothespins – or clothes pegs, by UK conventions – are still objects of familiarity. Yet, industrial designer Will McDonald uses the clothespin as an unconventional inspiration for a lamp. Peg Lamp utilizes the simple physics of forces, with the two plates of aluminum squeezing together just enough to hold up the adjustable, both in height and in angle, bar of LED lights. A soft cushion of felt protects and facilitates the interface, as well as adds a pop of color to the wood and metal construction.
