Sometimes people tend to generalize value without realizing pre-existing worth. As in this collection recently shown at the Stockholm Furniture Fair by Sofie Samuelson and Hanna Billqvist called Everyday Constructions, we are inspired to check our view of things we once thought.
The journey began with a towering scaffolding set for a construction site the artist passed everyday. It’s levels and platforms, the metal poles against wooden plank bases got them thinking of the possible potential for a mobile book case. Complete with shiny metal braces, the shelves are soft toned wood, framed with round poles.
Other ordinary finds turned into something designed for new purpose include a neon clock based in marble, a privacy wall with a scalloped edge curtain, a rug stabilized by industrial corners, and a treasures box elevated onto legs.
