Just as the act of biking is a happy medium between two methods of transportation – one’s own feet and a four-wheeled car – so too do WOOD.b wooden bicycles from BSG Bikes emerge as a hybrid in design. The bicycles Alfine 11 and Duomatic combine the textural depth and natural look of wood with the durability and reliability of refined metal in their frames. French designers Thierry Boltz and Claude Saos highlight this synergistic marriage with the framing of the main tubes by metal brackets, and also the wooden handlebar balanced upon its metal fulcrum. The layers of wooden veneer that compose the frame add further dimension to the urban bike, which delivers a fresh look without compromising performance.
