Like a cottage straight out of a fairytale, the Dune House by Min2 carries us somewhere magical in Bergen on the west coast of Norway. The sloped roof introduces us to the three story structure innocently, lit up like a dollhouse the windows reveal the wonder hidden inside. Towering tree trunk pillars bark still intacked hoist the gingerbread frame.  Large windows enhance the view of the nearby dunes. Their soft images kiss just about everywhere you look. Elements natural to the outdoors made their way into the design, such as the Douglass Fir beams or the seaweed carpet. On the exterior brown/purple British clay tiles cover three sides to compliment the surrounding fir bark. “An important design topic was to connect the form and the materialisation of the house with the place where it is situated. The high tall form had to fit in the dune landscape. During the design process this form became one of a dune or of a windswept group of trees sloping along with the worn landscape near the sea.”

I find a way to fearlessly provoke your senses and take you by the heart to whatever it is I’m writing about. My sweet spot is creative writing, but for the last 20 years I have been providing freelance content for publications on sustainability and green practices, design, architecture, fashion, and non-profit charity. Recently all wrapped up in producing my first book. I have bounced from NYC to Indianapolis, but my true home is a lovely small town in Central Pennsylvania where there’s a legit drive-your-tractor-to-school-day.
