Ever have serious plans like I did as a child to build the biggest, baddest tree house any kid had ever seen? This year at London’s Design Festival the TREE|HUB designed by Werk Studio has already been installed for its debut at the show.  Here, designers can all dream and create big thoughts together pulling out the tree climbing, rock skipping, tire swinging childlike imagination. Seems as though a little fun can inspire anyone when you sit them high among the branches. The project manager, Belen Palacios says, “We often see renowned designers having conversations and an audience looking at them, whereas a wider interaction with the audience would make the conversation more interesting. TREE|HUB asks a designer to have a chat with strangers on a tree house. The pavilion lives in a backyard at Peckham, in the most mundane space of London because this is where magical things happen.” This week  Tobie Kerridge, Des Freedman, Gregory Epps (Robofold), Sarat Babu (Betatype), Stuart Bannocks, Clara Gaggero (Vitamins), Rachel Falconer and Lawrence Lek (Hardcore Software) will be speaking in the treehouse free of charge from Thursday to Saturday until September 22.

I find a way to fearlessly provoke your senses and take you by the heart to whatever it is I’m writing about. My sweet spot is creative writing, but for the last 20 years I have been providing freelance content for publications on sustainability and green practices, design, architecture, fashion, and non-profit charity. Recently all wrapped up in producing my first book. I have bounced from NYC to Indianapolis, but my true home is a lovely small town in Central Pennsylvania where there’s a legit drive-your-tractor-to-school-day.
