Hous Unimog by Fabian Evers Architecture

Designed in collaboration between Fabian Evers Architecture and Wezel Architektur, the House Unimog is all about dualities. The private residence is named after the client’s truck, an apt choice given that the structure is equal parts living area and Mercedes Benz workshop. The upper level is walled with black anthracite, a material often used for car interiors. The lower level, however, is made of translucent polycarbonate, and gives off a white glow. While the black and white sections of the building contrast with one another, the corrugated lines align, and the side porch shines in opaque white, both effects which ultimately unify the house’s aesthetic.
