The Maison Simon, designed by Mathieu Noël & Élodie Bonnefous, is a private home in Vezet, France. Built in the village where the client began his career, the barn-like house showcases the owner’s personal history through its architecture as well as through its interior displays of art and books. Referencing barns, the house has a natural larch wood exterior and a long and tall frame. On the inside, the house reflects the owner’s personality, with a hallway of built-in bookshelves, wall space for hanging art, and a rustic wood stove at the center of the three-part structure. Enmeshing rural and individual style, this bespoke design is a tempered addition to the pastures of France, where the house is sure to become a welcome part of the local geography.
