Purchased for just €15, this former construction trailer was hauled into the clients’ garden by a neighboring farmer in Beerse, Belgium. Architect Karel Verstraeten then stripped and resurfaced the original design and converted it into a cozy space for study, relaxation, and (very) small parties. Now clad in naturally finished oak, the exterior embodies a rustic look in keeping with the surrounding farmland. The interior, while more sleek in plywood, is minimally decorated, featuring just a circular window and built-in shelving which can be used as a desk, window seat, or home bar.
