This sophisticated holiday home was designed by the San Francisco firm Fougeron Architecture in Carmel Valley Village, California. The single-story, three-bedroom house has an angled shape with four segments of the house making up a gently curving line. From above, one of these sections seems to be a blue room. Encased in glass, this space reflects the sky and mirrors the nearby ocean. The rest of the roof is done in a matte material that picks up the gray of exposed rock on the surrounding cliffside. From the ground, the aluminum cladding and large glass windows can be seen, shining in contrast with the concrete patio and the conifers. Inside, the darkly polished wooden walls complement the slate gray decor and marble floors.
