Relatively recent work by the late Ken Price will show at Matthew Marks Gallery in New York from May 9 to June 28. Crafted in 2011, the pieces on display revisit one of Price’s iconic shapes, the phallus with a twist. Some of the self-explanatory “Large Sculptures” stand four feet tall, diverging from the miniature forms for which the artist was perhaps best known. Made of painted bronze composite, the pieces give off a colorful and metallic glow evocative of late-night opulence.
