The Brother’s House by Hiroshi Kuno + Associates is built into a hillside in Otaru in the Hokkaido Prefecture of Japan. The cubic building features large glass windows which look all the way through to the other end of the residence. Inside, the white and natural wood palette places all attention on shape, namely the divisions between the three rooms. Sloping from floor to ceiling, the partitions create corners of more private space within the otherwise open plan.
