Renovated Tribeca Loft by StudioLab

StudioLAB renovated this loft for a growing family in Tribeca. They created an open plan in the main room while partitioning the private areas into three children’s rooms and a master bedroom on the mezzanine. In eliminating unnecessary barriers, they made the home both more fluid and more exposed to sunlight. Additionally, the architects updated the space in aesthetics and function. They painted the walls and ceilings white, including the original tin ceiling in the living room, providing a contemporary backdrop for the residents’ collection of midcentury modern furniture and personal artwork. They also installed an AC unit and a staircase with pull-out drawers, one of which houses a feeding station for the family dogs.
