Muji’s latest prefab architecture project, the Vertical House, is a three-story townhouse made to fit small spaces in Tokyo, Japan. Following on the heels of Muji’s Window House (2008), Tree House (2009), and Furniture House (2013), the new design is a minimalist urban home. The wood-framed structure has interior doors or walls, instead dividing the kitchen, dining area, den, bedroom, and bathroom among the three floors. On each level, there is a large front-facing window and white walls and natural wooden floors to reflect the sunlight. Altogether a small and easy-to-maintain space, the Vertical House is ideal for a single resident or a couple.
