This loft apartment in Budapest was designed by the Hungarian architecture firm Batlab. Overlain with orange MDF fibreboards, the structured steel loft is the brightest element in the home. The loft is accessible by two sets of stairs, a short sheet metal staircase designed for the male resident and a long MDF-covered version for the female counterpart. The two options lend personality to the space and make room for additional built-in storage. Both sides of the loft are outlined with tube lighting, an urban, retro complement to the central overhead lamp. Below, the polished floors lead through the stark white living room to the steely kitchen, drawing people through the sleek, contemporary space.
