The Apollo 8 Command Module, the first lighting design by Woodlabo, takes after the vehicle launched into space for NASA’s famous 1968 mission. With precise, clean lines, the sculptural pendant mimics the shape of a vintage spacecraft. The design is described as being “made in earth” because the materials (wood, ceramic, aluminum, and stainless steel) are sourced from two countries: France and Catalonia. The lamp is available in one’s choice of beech, oak, or ash, and the quality design is serigraphed and engraved on top. The Apollo 8 Command Module comes in a wooden box with a handsomely illustrated instruction manual, a graphic art poster, and a USB preloaded with music in order to ensure a pleasant installation experience.
