New from MiiR, a water bottle company based in Seattle, the Howler takes the beer growler to the next level. The sleek design features a minimalist outer made of BPA-free silicone for a secure grip. Beneath the surface, the 32-ounce container is insulated with a double-wall vacuum which keeps cold liquids chill for more than 24 hours and hot drinks nice and warm for up to 12 hours. The design is ideal for commuting and day trips, preserving the freshness of beer, coffee, and any other favorite drink for hours on end.

The travel mug is true to taste, space-efficient, leak-proof, and easy to clean. Made of stainless steel, just like the containers in which beer is crafted, the Howler keeps flavor pure and crisp. The design’s slender frame adds as little bulk as possible to one’s bag or bicycle. The lid is a swinging component with a wire bail, a simple mechanism which guarantees that no fizz will escape the bottle and can be readily rinsed after the day’s adventure is done.

The super-growler is available for a crowdfunded pre-order here for approximately $40. If fully funded, the first batch ships in late March of 2015. While $40 may seem steep for a water bottle, this is a top-quality design, and Miir uses a portion of their profits to give back to the world. For every bottle sold, the company provides a year’s supply of clean water to a person in need.
