Smart and portable, Aether’s Cone Speaker collects a holistic record of the user’s song history–including when and where what was played–in order to create the right playlist for the time and the place. The ergonomic design begins playback when one turns the dial, and verbal requests can be made after holding the center button. Powered by a LiOn battery with eight hours of life, the device draws from one’s personal music collection as well as from an online library packed with more than 20 million tracks, Internet radio stations, and podcasts. For the initial run, an iPhone or Mac is required for setup, but Android options are in the works. The handsome back and copper design is set for release in summer of this year, and a white and silver variation will be soon to follow.
