The interior of this Gubbio home was designed Menichetti+Caldarelli, the Italian architecture firm that did this historic building renovation in the same town. Called Abitazione MM, the design is polished white space that serves as a private residence. The two-story home centers around the cantilever staircase, a lovely feature that is partially framed by a transparent glass barrier. On the ground floor, there is a living room kitchen, and study. The living room is of particular interest because of details such as the double-height shelving and display case and the brass fireplace and accents. The deep brown of the burnished metal echoes upstairs in the bathroom tiles. On the second floor, the expansive bathroom divides the bedrooms, increasing the sense of privacy.
