Based in Los Angeles, the interdisciplinary studio wrk-shp designs lighting and architecture, clothing and accessories for men and women, and, now, home goods. All of these projects are created by the husband-and-wife team Airi Isoda and Ryan Upton, both of whom have backgrounds in architecture. Their new line ventures into the realm of furnishings and decor, presenting carefully crafted pieces that are almost exclusively made in the USA. Introducing innovative variations on classic household furniture and objects, the collection includes a table, a planter, a pendant lamp, and a wall hook. Buy here

The self-explanatory 3 Leg Table stands on a trio of powder-coated steel legs. Notably, there is a light built into the rear leg, making this asymmetrical design an illuminated desk. Composed of concrete, fabric-covered wires, and a T10 bulb, the exposed lamp is attractive and high-quality, just like a light one might buy independently. Ingenious yet simple, the light plugs into the wall, but otherwise does not disrupt the function of the wood and metal table. The practical design also includes a drawer, helping the user keep the workspace clutter-free.

Playing with the same lighting shapes and materials seen in the 3 Leg Table, the Concrete Pendant Light suspends a T10 bulb from the ceiling. Strong yet lightweight, the base is made of raw concrete, and the 14-foot wires are covered in one’s choice of red or dark gray fabric. The resulting hanging light is slender and minimalist in appearance.

Another suspended design, the Concrete Hanging Vessel is a planter with an internal divider. The uniquely shaped flower pot can hold two kinds of plants or pair one favorite plant with a collection of knickknacks. A great addition to the home or office, the Concrete Hanging Vessel can be personalized as storage and display for anything from cooking tools to pens and pencils. The durable design is made of natural concrete and red, blue, or gray rope, which was woven in Japan.

To secure the Concrete Hanging Vessel, why not use the Wood Wall Cleat? This maple wood dowel steadies the planter, jackets, scarves, or other accessories against the wall. Inspired by the dock cleats used to anchor boats, the simple bar is meant to be wrapped around. To vary the look, the wall-mounted decor is studded with brass screws and can be placed horizontally or vertically.
