Reportedly the first-ever designer LED bulb, the Buster Bulb is a new release by Buster + Punch, the studio that brought us Hardware. The fresh collection revisits the look of the brand’s Heavy Metal collection, though this eco-friendly, more affordable version features a patented resin light pipe. The bulb itself is a glass teardrop in gold, gray, or “crystal” with a metallic satin finish. Each of the three options is a 3W fully dimmable LED with a E27 base. The bulb shines focused light on a table or other direct point, while enhancing the ambience of the whole room. Using just 5% of the energy burned by a conventional bulb, the Buster Bulb promises 10,000 hours of life; that means it could last five years if used for just 6 hours per day. Now available for purchase online from Buster + Punch, the Buster Bulb is priced at £39.99. To view the product in person, visit the brand’s Stockholm store, London showroom, or upcoming installation at Euroluce Milan 2015.
