Created in a collaboration between Swiss Industrial Designer Lorenzo Scazziga and German entrepreneur Felix Grimm, CUBE is an innovative take on lighting and its many versatile functions in our daily lives. Labeled a “personal light,” the ultra-compact LED light source measures a mere 2”x2”x2” making it easily portable. While it can be physically carried from one task to another, CUBE was specifically designed with settings for three levels of comfortable white light as well as an infinite spectrum of colors which allow it to transition seamlessly among a seemingly endless variety of functions; it even has a “flash mode” for emergency situations. The simplicity of the elegant geometric form contributes to its versatility and makes for a Universal Design that could set the mood at a party just as well as it could illuminate a campsite. Starting at $29.90, CUBE offers an eco-friendly and efficient lighting choice for a modern world. Available here in black, white, cyan, or fluo pink.

Lizzie Wright is an aspiring artist and designer with a passion for the written word. While she works on her BFA in Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), she spends her (rare) spare time riding around Providence on her trusty Cannondale and drinking lots of coffee. She is especially fascinated by the dichotomy between aesthetic form and function, which has an immense influence on her work. As a lover of the natural world, Lizzie plans to focus on Nature, Culture, and Sustainability Studies to pursue a more efficient future for design. Read more by visiting her website
