Based in Michigan, Terrence Campagna is a multi-media artist and field researcher at the Neighborhood Center for the Study of Undocumented Relationships. In the wall-mounted sculptures of his signature Field Collections in the Rural Midwest, Campagna combines new and found wood and sometimes inorganic objects such as a clothes hanger. The materials are largely sourced from agricultural outbuildings in Michigan and other states, ranging from Nebraska to New York. Affixed to one another with nails and screws, the pieces are left naturally weathered or painted for mood and dimension. The result is a series of bright, passage-way like channels evocative of map and stairway imagery.
