How you wake up can impact the rest of your day – especially if you have a faulty or aggravating alarm. Created as part of a new collection of home wares for Danish design company Menu, the Tumbler Alarm clock is intended to “stay classy for generations” with a design focused on optimal user interaction. Operating out of Copenhagen, Norm Architects created this design which comprises a wide flat face on the end of a cylindrical barrel. The simple yet playful design requires the user to flip the clock upside down on its face in order to stop the alarm, a clever feature that is both inventive and intuitive. Available in a variety of subtle hues (carbon, white, and moss green), the perfectly minimal design is well-suited to practically every space and any lifestyle. The rounded bottom ads an extra touch of whimsy as the form appears to effortlessly defy gravity with its “no-tilt” design. Buy here

Lizzie

Lizzie Wright is an aspiring artist and designer with a passion for the written word. While she works on her BFA in Industrial Design at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), she spends her (rare) spare time riding around Providence on her trusty Cannondale and drinking lots of coffee. She is especially fascinated by the dichotomy between aesthetic form and function, which has an immense influence on her work. As a lover of the natural world, Lizzie plans to focus on Nature, Culture, and Sustainability Studies to pursue a more efficient future for design. Read more by visiting her website
