One of the most probing questions for a bike owner in an urban environment is how to store the bike when it’s not in use. Apartments can be cramped for space, so the usual solutions such as leaning it near the entryway of the house often lead to the bike getting knocked over by the swinging front door or blocking access to a front closet. Some more enterprising individuals may spring for a bike rack on a free wall, but these can be unsightly as well as expensive. Then there is the question of where to store all the accessories, including helmets, locks etc. that one needs to bike safely in a city.
