The new Volkswagen concept impresses with its futuristic take on the classic Microbus.

The exterior features a large but elegant grille with seamlessly integrated headlights. But it’s the interior that grabs your attention and doesn’t let go easily. A curved multi-touch screen is placed behind the two-stage touch steering wheel, while passengers sitting on the comfortable sofa-inspired seats can enjoy a 31-inch infotainment system. Along with the voice controls and self-driving system that are more frequently found in other cars, there are also gesture controls that let the driver open the doors and activate various functions on the front screen. Other features include an Internet of Things connection, so users can control home devices, lighting or garage doors, and a system that alerts you if you leave your phone or bag inside the cabin. Built on Volkswagen’s Modular Electric Platform, the all-electric car has one 101-kWh battery and two motors placed at the front and back. But Budd-e is not just an eco-friendly car with a striking design – it can go from 0 to 60 mph in an impressive 6.9 seconds and has a range of 233 miles on a single charge. It will grace the roads from 2019, paving the way towards a stylish future.
