Michele De Lucchi

Italian architect, designer, and artist Michele De Lucchi was born in 1951 in Ferrara, Italy. He moved to Florence to study architecture. Later, he became one of the leading figures in the Memphis, Cavart, and Studio Alchimia movements. Michele De Lucchi’s prolific career includes a huge variety of projects, ranging from furniture, lighting, and product design to architecture, concepts for museums, building renovations, experimental projects, and art exhibitions. His client list includes names like Vitra, Hermès, Olivetti, Artemide, Philips, and Siemens, among many others. His work is included in the permanent collections of several renowned museums. They include Centre Georges Pompidou in France, the Vitra Design Museum in Germany, the Design Museum in Belgium, and MFA Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, USA. Michele De Lucchi has received many awards for his work, including Red Dot Design Awards, iF Product Design Awards, GOOD Design Awards, and Compasso d'Oro awards, to name a few.
