Every year, Milan Design Week provides a captivating glimpse at the latest innovations coming from the world of design, bringing to light creative solutions meant to enhance modern living and comfort. For 2016, cyclists can rejoice. The renowned bike frame builder Dario Pegoretti has created a collection of 15 products in a collaboration with the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design. The concepts are united under the title Più di Pegoretti. The students’ fresh take on design and their creativity are complemented by Pegoretti’s vast experience and refined minimalism; the products are made in a partnership with Rossignoli, the Milan-based bike manufacturing company founded in 1946. This blend has resulted in 15 one-of-a-kind ideas that are inspired by and are meant to be improve the increasingly more popular mode of transportation in urban areas, the bicycle. The project can be divided into a several categories. First, there are the apparel items: a simple jacket featuring hi-viz stripes, a structured windbreaker, a modern poncho, and a pair of sneakers. In a personal accessories section, you can find a bag that fits under the seat, a backpack, a pair of glasses, and a helmet boasting a modern geometric pattern. Designed to enhance a bike’s functionality, the handlebar bag can be easily attached and used to store various items or snacks, while the pedals with a built-in toe strap provide more comfort and will suit almost any type of footwear. There is also a lock for more security, a textured seat, and a convenient bike stand. The bar tape prints allow for easy customization, perfect for those who want to make anonymous bikes stand out. Finally, as night falls, the LED lights can truly shine. They are made from a soft nylon mesh and have a refractory body molded in various shapes and curved forms which can be added to a handlebar or seat using a plastic attachment. All of these 15 concepts feature a combination of black, white, orange, and red tones linking them in a unitary collection that surprises with its ingenuity and style.
