The Toyota Land Cruiser was first launched in 1951 as a military vehicle, and it was both larger and more powerful than the US Jeep. For over 60 years it has been used to conquer unforgiving terrains, as a partner on unforgettable adventures, or as a reliable vehicle on humanitarian missions. Miami-based FJ Company is dedicated to infusing new life into the icon and works exclusively with the FJ20, FJ40, and FJ60 models, carefully restoring the cars and lending them a modern appearance that maintains the classic spirit of the Land Cruiser alive.

This 1981 FJ43 is specially designed for the Copperstate Overland, a rally created for vintage 4×4 enthusiasts which lasts four days and runs through the beautiful landscapes of Arizona. The car has the original 2F engine, rebuilt by the FJ Company team along with the front disk brakes and the power steering. New additions include a 5-speed manual transmission, OME suspension, LED headlights, new carburetor, and aluminum radiator. In terms of safety, this FJ43 Copperstate Overland Edition features a custom roll-cage and a fire extinguishing system. Inside the cabin, Corbeau MOAB seats and custom leather upholstery that extends to the rear fold down seats and door panel enhance the feeling of comfort and add a touch of classic style. The exterior boasts a bespoke soft-top made by the FJ Company and a gorgeous olive paint which is meant to contrast the mountainous landscapes in Arizona. Those who love the Land Cruiser and vintage 4×4 aficionados alike should mark the 20-21 August date in their calendars, when the FJ43 will be for sale in the Gooding & Company’s Pebble Beach Auction. The winning bidder will also have the opportunity to participate in the October Copperstate Overland rally and drive this beauty to the finish line.
