Located on the island of Syros, on a sloped hill overlooking the Aegean Sea, this summer house provides the perfect retreat space for the owners and their friends, offering magnificent views of the Greek coastal landscape. The house and four separate guesthouses are designed by Block722, an architecture and interior design studio based in Athens, Greece. The structures respect the topography of the site, with some buildings partly buried in the slope and steps leading to various covered or open outdoor areas. Inside the house, open plan rooms, large windows, and glass doors create a bright living space which offers optimal views of the sea and distant mountains. Two guesthouses are placed closer to the main structure, as they are designed for friends and family. The other two are located on the opposite side and they have private entrances, so they can be easily rented. Wood, natural stone and concrete are tastefully used both inside and outside in a refined blend of vernacular architecture and modern design. The large infinity swimming pool along with the open lounge areas are the heart of the entire property. Here, the beauty of the natural landscape can be admired in all its glory in a peaceful space where the natural stone, blue water and clear sky create zen-like ambience.
