Inspired by architecture and designed with contrasting materials and textures, the Twig I, II and III lamps establish a distinct relationship between organic and man-made, between clean, precise lines and one-of-a-kind accents. The lamps are designed by Atelier Maziné, an architecture and design studio founded in 2015 by Marine Faisandier and Richie Marudai, and produced in a collaboration with the JP Auneau workshop. The minimalist design combines three elements: wood, concrete and light. Reminiscent of vertical wooden shutters, the upper section is made of solid oak and beech, boasting a pale brown tone and grain patterns; it houses a light bulb that spreads its warm glow through the equal spaces created by the perfectly rounded ‘twigs’. The rectangular base is made of concrete which has been produced without sand but combined with random pieces of recycled glass, beautifully complementing the warmth of the wooden box. Handmade from French wood sourced from well-managed forests, featuring pieces of recycled glass and an energy-saving LED light, the Twig lamps are as eco-friendly as they are stylish. They come in three versions and a choice of a red or blue-green wire is also offered to customers. At the moment, only customers located in France can buy the lamps, but we’re certainly looking forward to seeing more of the studio’s work in the near future. Photo credits: Atelier Maziné.
