Introducing The Taiyou&C Furniture Brand

Here at Gessato we love good design as much as we love meaningful products and objects that blend classic functionality with a modern aesthetic. Mikiya Kobayashi’s Kimi no Isu Project exemplify this perfectly. Now we’re happy to introduce the Taiyou&C. furniture brand, launched this November by the same Japanese studio. The brand’s first collection, produced in Japan by Takumi Kohgei and Fuji Furniture, features gorgeous items created by three designers.

Richard Hutten, one of the leaders of the Droog Design movement designed the Clover 3/Clover 4 stools, Jin Kuramoto, designer of the popular JK chair created the Keystone armchair, while Taiyou&C. creative director Mikiya Kobayashi designed the Round chair and Horizon table. All of these items have a distinctive minimalist design anchored in function. They also illustrate Mikiya Kobayashi’s desire to create beautiful contract furniture which fulfills specific requirements, a mission that stands at the foundation of the collection and inspired the creation of the brand. Comfortable for prolonged sitting, easy to stack to save storage space, shaped to fit harmoniously in a smaller area, and made from warm wood, the chairs and table blend style and function in modern designs that would look at home in an office or a living room.
