We previously wrote about several of Quentin de Coster’s designs. We loved the ingenious Himitsu Money Box just as much as we admired the refined Satellite marble and LED light. In both cases, the designer created elegant products that blended a sense of playfulness with minimalism and geometric shapes. This combination also appears in Coster’s latest work – the limited-edition HALO table lamp.

Made in a collaboration with Christophe Genard, one of Belgium’s last master glass makers, the lamp creates a connection between traditional craftsmanship and sleek, contemporary design. Inspired by the standard light bulb, HALO aims to put the usually hidden element, the fluorescent light tube, at the center of attention. The hand blown body of the lamp has a simple, minimal appearance that accentuates the visual impact of the bright light, which in turn seems to hover above the surface of the table. Ethereal yet striking, the large HALO table lamp comes in gray, blue and pink colors. And with only 18 pieces made, every one of them will become that more special.
