A strong belief that premium quality products shouldn’t come with a high price tag as well as a commitment to sustainable and transparent manufacturing practices led Jolle van der Mast and Daniel Archutow to set up the Amsterdam-based Unrecorded brand. This small company has a big mission: to offer high-quality essentials made using premium organic cotton and sustainable practices. All at a reasonable price. By renouncing the classic model of doing business, the two co-founders aim to connect directly with their customer base. No physical shop, no middlemen, no mark-ups, and no advertising equals to lower prices transferred to the customers.

Thus, Unrecorded can keep its promise while also producing timeless, elegant designs. “We want to emphasize the premium quality of the materials and make our basics truly sustainable, by ensuring they can be worn for years and years. A timeless design doesn’t require branding,” says brand co-founder Daniel Archutow.

Made from 100% organic cotton in Portugal, the brand’s first t-shirt and sweater are durable and strong; they also feature no harmful chemicals and come in elegant and versatile colors: gray, navy, white, and black. Launched recently on Kickstarter, the company’s campaign reached its goal within six hours, showing the demand for high-quality basics at fair prices. As a welcome bonus, the company operates on complete transparency, showing every step of the manufacturing process. You can become a backer here – the campaign runs until April 13.
