Italian Volt’s Lacama – The Next Step In the Evolution Of The Electric Motorcycle

In recent years, the world of electric motorcycles has slowly grown from a few DIY builds to a rapidly growing market. But when it gets crowded, it sometimes takes a touch of Italian style to stand out. That’s exactly what Italian Volt did. Founded in 2016 by two Guinness World Record holders (for the longest journey completed on an electric motorcycle, an impressive road trip of 7,692 miles) and a former designer for the likes of Lamborghini and Bertoni, the company set expectations pretty high. And with Lacama, it certainly delivered. Created as a high-end bike that’s easy to customize, this motorcycle impresses with its versatility.

The original and distinctive bike features an in-house-designed aluminum frame and swing arm, 3D printed bodywork, and a range of high-end equipment and features. These include an Öhlins suspension, batteries that produce 94 hp and a top speed of 112 mph, a touchscreen with GPS and smartphone connectivity, as well as the ability to charge the batteries up to 80% in 40 minutes using a fast-charging outlet. But the motorcycle shines when it comes to customization. Owners will be able to order various components to transform their Lacama, from bodywork in different colors and shapes to custom, handmade parts. Lacama can thus become a café racer, roadster, or a scrambler.

A prototype for now, the bike will be available to order in September at a price that will hover around $37,600. And since you should go big or go home, the company has its eyes set not only on Europe, but also on North America and Asia, with concept stores to open in Milan, Los Angeles and Shanghai.
